Friday, November 30, 2007 I recently finished reading The Long Tail by Chris Anderson. It is a great background book on how, why and where the internet is turning various brick and mortar stores on their ears. He explains in detail how movies, books and music have been changed by the internet in how they are being handled. The information he talks about can be applied to any internet store. How the markets are now segmented and how we talk about niche markets is derived from the long tail. Put in your domain in the search box and you get the keywords your site is ranked for. Put in your competitors site and see what keywords they are ranked for. It shows how many time the word was shown in Wordtracker and Overture. Go check it out and use it to work on your keywords.
