I really love Blogger's new dashboard!
It gives us an overview of what is going on, gives us some numbers, and when we hit on the Home Icon:
We get to see some interesting numbers.
A word of warning, my numbers were flawed and your may be too. Let me show you how we know.
The post had 55 visitors but had over 600 comments? At 5 comments per, that would be 255.
So now we know to look at the trends it provides us and use our Google Analytics account for deeper information.
Let's look at some trends right now.
We can see the biggest trend for traffic sources comes from the original website. We also see that Twitter and the Quilting Gallery might be places that we need to dive into and find out more information.
As we look at our next graphic we send the trend continues. Referring sites come from Google, the original website, and once again we see the Quilting Gallery. We see the trends for Facebook and Twitter as well.
Let's take a look at the next graph on the page:
Now we can get an idea as to what type of keywords our customers are using to find our blog.
Seems our Jelly Roll Race was quite popular and we need to spend a little more time on the topic.
Maybe we need follow-up posts, show off more quilts from the race, and make sure that we provide links to the instructions with every step we make. We see there are many people looking for the instructions (pattern) and we want to make sure they find us.
Let's take a look at another blog:
This is what we find on two of the blogs we have out of the 11. Not a great site to see and especially when we get the error for THIS blog.
Do some surfing to find out that it happens with SOME custom blogs on Blogger and they are working on it.
How do you get by all this bull and start posting again?
Easy :) Just uncheck "Make Blogger in Draft my default."
Once you do that, you get this little popup for Feedback. Tell them you hate having your blog not available in Draft *kidding*
Just close that box and go to http://www.blogger.com and you should see the normal list of blogs as before.
Easy as pie :) If you want to get back to the "draft" look, just go to:
Now you are back to where we started!
What are your thoughts on the new Blogger Draft Interface?
