The big question... Do you have a mobile version of your website?

If not, why?

Typically the answer is... I don't have that many customers shopping on our website with mobile devices.

My response... Have you checked?

Recent response.... No, I just know.

Why bother thinking you know how your customers are shopping when your analytics will tell you very specifically yes or no?

Let's learn how to find out using Google Analytics.

1. Log in and change your date range. Go back to the first of the year.



2. Now on the left, let's look at visitors, and then mobile devices.




3. Let's look at this month by month




Wowsers. Look at that increase over the last 10 months for this online store owner.

4. Let's really make it interesting. Just below the graph, click on Ecommerce.




Now we have some information!

2.17% of this store's traffic comes from Mobile Devices and 1.48% of this store's revenue comes from Mobile as well.


This online store usually converts 4.12% of their customers but, on mobile only 1.07%.

However, if we look at the per visit value, (which I don't show numbers unless I have express permission from our customer), it was almost as high as those visiting the website.

Now, imagine what would happen if we created a mobile website for this store owner and their mobile visitors starting converting at 4.12% as well.

The average value of a mobile user for this store was 162.61%. They are worth more money.


Shouldn't we spend a little more money on them?


I agree. This is why we helped this online store owner open their brand new mobile website.
