Did you ever hear about the woman who sold $7 worth of Pokemon cards for over $100??

She told a story. She told a VERY funny story about having to go shopping with her 6 kids and all the headaches that followed.

"You haven’t lived until you’ve gone grocery shopping with six kids in tow. I would rather swim, covered in bait, through the English Channel, be a contestant on Fear Factor when they’re having pig brains for lunch, or do fourth grade math than to take my six kids to the grocery store. Because I absolutely detest grocery shopping, I tend to put it off as long as possible. There comes a time, however, when you’re peering into your fridge and thinking, ‘Hmmm, what can I make with ketchup, Italian dressing, and half an onion,’ that you decide you cannot avoid going to the grocery store any longer. Before beginning this most treacherous mission, I gather all the kids together and give them “The Lecture“."

Jeff Sexton from FutureNow wrote an awesome post entitled, "Can Copy Create (added) Value On It's Own?"

If you haven't read it yet, do it now and pay close attention to when he starts talking about applying what we have learned to normal products.

The truth is, you can tell your own unique story with any product and increase sales.

Here are two great examples:

  • Cozy Bedtime Story - Click on the tab "Bedtime Story" and you will see they are literally telling their customers a story. This is a great way of creating unique content for SEO and increasing conversion rates. Now picture this, a mother innocently starts reading and tells her child to come over and listen to this wonderful story. The child listens and loves it. Story ends - what does the child want? The product that comes with it! BRILLIANT!!



  • Gun Dog Supply - The entire website is focused on telling you a story from the moment you "walk" in. The home page tells you how they got started. You immediately learn the owner is an "expert" because he is out there hunting with you and using the products too. The website interacts with you by showing you the owner out hunting with the product with video, images, and text. You feel like you are out in the woods with Steve. Want to know if a product sucks - yep he tells you that too. You trust him immediately and you buy from him whether he is the lowest price guy or not - BRILLIANT!!

Now go back to your website and take a look at your products.

What information can you give about your products?

Remember, your hard work will only increase your search engine rankings and conversion rates.
