Saturday morning my daddy got a phone call that nobody wants to get, his father had passed away. We put mom and dad on the first plane back to California.
Since Saturday, I have been thinking nonstop about family and how lucky I am to have my wonderful family.
You see, many of you know my family.
Most of you already know mom, but did you know that Steve was my dad too?
Daddy retired from the Marine Corp and when he first started helping me with my business, he barely knew how to turn on a computer.
Now he helps new Yahoo Store owners every day with building their Yahoo Stores. He has the patience of a saint and will sit with anyone on the phone as long as they need him. He knows what it is like to not understand what you are doing and he makes sure that you have fun while you are learning.
Mom did business management for Aerosmith and Bruce Springstein and now she helps our customers to build a business....not a website or Yahoo store.... a business. With her MBA and experience... we are very lucky to have her on board.
We also have my grandfather working in the office from time to time. He is over 80 years old and has his own Yahoo Store. The man has worked in retail since he was old enough to work and he knows how to sell to customers.
My two boys have helped to make the business what it is today. The helped with shipping, answering phone calls, working on the stores, and whatever else was needed to get where we are today.
Then I have this amazing team at 1 Choice that I love and adore and they are part of my family too. They work so very hard to take care of our customers and this business is amazing because of their dedication.
Finally, our customers really bring our entire family together. We always tell our customers that they become a part of our family when they work with us. I love seeing them at conferences and giving them a huge hug. Forget a hand shake... we are family!
So as I sit here thinking about how life is just too damn short, I want to take the time to tell my family (which means all of you too) how much I appreciate and love you all.
Thank you for being there each and every day and big virtual hugs to all of you.
