Affiliate Marketing can also be a tad confusing at first. Most store owners are not sure which way to go or even where to start.

Store merchants indicates the same view as Vanessa Fox. She has a wonderful article on her blog: “Is PageRank the Ultimate Measure of Online Influence”.

So stop worrying about Page Rank and how to make it higher. Concentrate on content, trust and your customer’s shopping experience.

I highly recommend reading the article as it has some really great information!

Yesterday, we spoke about getting personal with your customers and Mike references a website called Wicked Cool Stuff.

Check out the website and notice the header?

The owner of the company has his image in the header with links to get to know Brett and read his blog. He is getting personal with his customers and letting them get to know him.

Remember, it's all about getting personal. Your customers want to trust you and get to know who they are doing business.

At Online Market World, McAfee noted that 70% of your traffic is not converting because they do not trust you. People want to know who they are doing business with. It’s time to get personal with your customers.

I happened to be watching the Closer on TNT and noticed the commercials. The actors come on screen and tell you about the show that they are on. They tell you why they think you should watch the show or why they think it is a good show.

TNT also has commercials about their own station and the shows they carry. The actors come on screen and talk to you about dramas or action shows.

TNT is trying to get personal with its audience. Are you getting personal with your audience?

I am sitting in a conference at Online Market World and just finished watching Jimmy Duvall from Yahoo Small Business. He offered great advice for online e-commerce owners.

Put the phone number where people can find it. Especially in the header.

Sale items quickly

Show shopping basket (or view cart) in the top right corner

Answer key questions in your shopping cart that your customers will have. For instance, if you sold a shirt and a customer wants to know how to change the size or color, tell them. Give them your phone number so they can easily call you.

#1 question people ask in the cart is "How long will this item take to get to me?" Answer this question in your shopping cart

Biggest online shopping day of the year is NOT cyber monday.

In fact, it is 2 weeks before Christmas. So make sure your marketing is ready and we will discuss this in more detail soon!
