If you are looking for an easy way to show customers what type of credit card payments you accept, check out this Free Credit Card Logos website.

You can find images for:
  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Paypal
  • eCheck
They combine the logos together as well. If you only accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.... no problem.

WORD OF WARNING

I would not suggest copying and pasting the code directly. They link the credit card images to other websites not appropriate for your store.

Instead, do the following

1. Right click with your mouse over the image and choose - Save Image As

2. Upload this picture to your website. If you have a yahoo store, go into your Web Hosting Control Panel and click on Manage ---> File Manager --->Upload File

3. After you upload the file, go back to File Manager, locate the file, and click on view. This will open in a new window and we can copy the URL.

4. Inset the image into your website. If you have a Yahoo Store, you might want to put it in the bottom of your left navigation bar. To do this with your regular standard 3.0 store with no custom programming do the following:

  • Go into store editor and click on variables
  • Look for the variable called html-below-left-nav
  • Type in the following BUT replace with your URL for YOUR credit card image:

5. Click update and admire your handy work. If you want to center the image just add the following:

6. Click update again and publish your changes.

7. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!

This weekend I will be reading Pay-Per-Click Search Engine Marketing: An Hour a Day by Dav David Szetela and Joseph Kerschbaum. I am looking forward to reviewing the book and the timing is just perfect.

If you are looking to step up your pay per click campaigns for this holiday season, now is the time to figure out what works and what does not work.

I will be back next week with a full review.

Until then, have a wonderful weekend and I will talk to you again after the holiday!

P.S.

Ecom Experts will not be live this Monday due to the holiday but, we will be back the following week!

According to a recent article by eMarketer, "US Census Bureau reported that retail ecommerce sales were solid in Q2 2010, growing an estimated 13.7% year over year, a slight decline from 14.2% growth in Q1 2010."

However, the article also states that holiday shoppers are still going to be careful with their spending this holiday season as they have been the last two seasons.

BIGresearch conducted a survey in July of 2010 to find out how shoppers plan to save money this season.

According to the survey:
  • 64% state they will be spending less on everyone
  • 42.7 states they will only buy gifts on sale
  • 36% stated they will do more comparison shopping
What I found particularly interesting for store owners:
  • 22% plan on doing more research online before buying in-store
  • 21.6% plan to do more shopping online
This is a great opportunity for online store owners to grab a bigger piece of the pie.

Here are five tips we can use to increase sales based on the information above:
  1. More consumers are going to do comparison shopping - Make sure your products are listed in Google Shopping and other comparison shopping sites that come up for your products.

  2. Use the words "gift" and "sale" in your ad copy and landing pages.

  3. Understand what your customers are researching online before buying in-store. Add this information to your website and grab the sale before they ever leave their house.

  4. Remind your customers of the benefits of shopping online - Fast, easy, no lines, no wait, and guaranteed availability.

  5. Show your customers alternative products they can purchase for other family members. Make yourself a one stop shop for their holiday shopping needs.

You might be surprised - FREE.

Yes, free is the great four letter F-Word that keeps customers coming back for more.

Zappos made it their mission to build loyalty with their customers and it paid off.

75% of their customers - Repeat business

How did they build customer loyalty? They offered free shipping to their customers and free shipping when the product wasn't right.

Now granted, not all of us can afford to give free shipping there and back. However, there are other small things that we can do:
  • Include a hand written note thanking the customer for their purchase
  • Make a phone call to one customer each day thanking them for their purchase
  • Giving one customer a day their shipping refunded back to them via a gift card from your store
  • Send a small candy with each purchase
There are a lot more ideas that we covered in our interview with Kat Simpson from Kat's Kloset yesterday on our radio show Ecom Experts.

Make sure to check them out below by clicking the play button. You will learn more ways you can drive repeat business to your store starting today!

Air Date: August 23, 2010

Studies show that its less expensive to bring existing customers back than to attract new ones. So how can you take your existing customers and bring them back into your store to purchase again? Shawna welcomes the always popular Kat from Kats Kloset! Kat was recently named one of the top 6 Social Media Sellers by eBays blogger, Richard Brewer Hayes and is keeping busy trying to live up to that image.
